Now the pears are ripe and the red Bartletts are falling off the tree! I pick them up every morning….eat the best ones with cheese and chips for a snack before going to bed……the others I cut up, give the cores and the bruised sections to the chickens, and put them in the slow cooker with onions and a bone-in pork roast. For liquid I pick and juice some tasty apples! YUM! Bake some sweet potatoes and steam corn on the cob…..the next day it’s pulled pork! Good time of year!
