I agree that BC has not been ready for prime time for ages. What bothers me even more is the fact that tax dollars are going to groups that actively work against development. Case in point is the Indigenous Land Guardians program. Our tax dollars go to providing "eyes and ears" to the land. In practice, from what I can see, we have tons of funding going to select people by which I mean those who can prove aboriginal status and the graduates of said program are then outfitted with nice trucks to drive around being the eyes and ears. Ten years ago when I drove the backcountry in my trusty truck I'd see no one other than geologists, loggers, hunters and mountaineers.
Now there are all kinds of characters out there, and they post photos all over social media of anything that offends them, which is pretty much everything. The BC provincial government and the Federal Government seem love this, but it results in disaster for resource industries. Also the funding for this seems to be immense. Here is an example of one of many links regarding said program. If you google land guardians you will find lots, and I don't recall us voters being told about this program.
