Re: Chart hints from QDEL
....and my tiny 2 cents: Dreggy suggested a quick look to find out the "why" behind the movement. Recently SNOW was moving up before earnings - so I went along for the ride. I cashed out before they reported after hours expecting the volatility to be more than I wanted to experience. (sold at 138.75) However when I looked at the after hours trading, the stock was down $15, $16 dollars. I quickly looked to the results which beat estimates comfortably - and re bought a portion of my position at $124.00 (boo hoo - should have gone in the full position) but since I could not monitor the call or after hours activity, I put a sell in at $130.
So..a bit of due diligence (look at the posted earning and sales beat) rational suggested the low for the bad news (which was a conservative forward guidance) was already in and the stock would recover quickly.
I WAY missed the recovery top ($145 - $154) and I should have more courage - (buy the whole position back next time) and more conviction (I would have been fairly safe to feel the stock could meet it's pre news high of $138.75)
So, I draw for a living and do not have the technical background I should have to offer suggestions like Harry and Glenn but I sure do respect and thank them for their wisdom!
