Toyota dragged their heels on the EV transition instead betting heavily on fuel cell vehicles which have been a bust. On the EV side they bet on solid state batteries and several times announced they would start commercial production but it has been a receding targe and is now out to 2027-2028. Still, if they can pull off what they map out here they will be back in the game.
