Re: Pardon my Politics - mostly off topic
I concede the move out of Afghanistan was hasty. But what precipitated it was years and years of frustration with the blatant corruption of our so-called allies in Afghanistan. Remember Biden had to deal Karzai and his companions during 8 years of the Obama administration. Bottom line, Biden didn't want to put on more dime of money or ounce of effort into that country. Still, the intelligence gathered on the Taliban was wrong and we needed to protect our people and some important collaborators better. That was a bad decision. But everything else, particularly the Semiconductor bill, his cooperative work with NATO allies, the consistent but not rhetoric-filled support of Ukraine, and not least the latest health and climate bill, are all good things for which he should claim much of the credit.
Biden has core principles (vis a vis CGs point about Clinton), works better with Congressional colleagues than Obama, and although prone to verbal gaffes, he avoids some of the muck that Carter stepped in. Thats why I think he is better than his recent Democratic predecessors. And though he hasn't and maybe can't do enough to help them, he supports the American lower and middle classes.
