Return of Capital from Some Covered Call Funds
There was an article by Smart Money yesterday (6/18/07) that appeared on my newsreader and it mentioned that some covered call funds may return a portion of capital, while others (BDJ, FFA, and NFJ) have never returned capital.
1. Does a return of capital change your cost basis - if so, how (raise/lower)?
2. What document (Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, Income Statement, Quarterly/monthly dividend announcement) would specify whether there was any capital returned either during that period or YTD (e.g. where would I look to determine if any capital was returned)?
