HVLN to change name and expand Nationally
The Board of Directors of Harvard Learning Centers, Inc. (PINKSHEETS: HVLN) (the "Company") announced today that it had voted to change its name, effective July 10, 2007, to "American Learning Centers, Inc." per an agreement reached with Harvard University, Cambridge, Massachusetts, which resolves a perceptual issue of implied affiliation. In connection with the name change, the Company has applied to NASDAQ for a new stock symbol and CUSIP number effective on the same date.
Carl Campanelli, the new Chairman and President, said after the Meeting, "Expanding and realigning the Board of Directors will allow us to have the best possible counsel as we pursue this new direction while maintaining and growing our historic business. We believe that the Men's Room, ASAP Athletics and our other youth-focused sports and fitness subsidiary, BSA Athletics, present immense revenue growth opportunities on which we can capitalize -- locally, regionally and nationally."
