Re: good CD purchase Back in around 1980 after Paul Volker raised rates on steroids I bought a 1 year CD yielding 13.5%. I didn't have all that much money back then but I still took advantage of that. The highest yielding bond I had was some GMAC bonds yielding 7.25% around 2000. I collected the yield for around a year . I owned $10k of them . I decided to sell them and made an extra $450 profit because they were trading above par. |
