>>BritTim says: That [Russia is falling apart] was not my previous impression. I have believed that the sanctions would have a major long term impact, but not derail the Russian economy in the short to medium term. What do others think?<<

I for one never thought it was within my pay grade to predict the economic fate of Russia. I appreciate Russia's bad news, because for the world that is good news. And certainly, much credit goes to Biden for the overall war effort. Biden saw the merits of "sanctions" long before anyone else did, and his approach has done well at keeping us out of a nuclear war.

In addition to Putin's bad economic problems, it seems that the war is turning around, and pretty fast, and not in Putin's favor. And in terms of significant feathers in caps, we seem to be arriving at a point where Biden's record of real accomplishments is truly trouncing Trump's accomplishments. In some way, it's amazing that Biden isn't more popular than he is.

In addition to Putin fading, Trump is steadily fading at an noticeable clip.

And Ukraine is turning out to be the best sales pitch for democracy in a couple of decades. Exactly how much we should be thanking those people, and be thankful for those people, will probably not be understood for a couple of decades.
