I agree long was not making much money. Dividend cover some equity loss. Nor do long-term shorts are making much money, paying dividend but making up by short position.
Maybe you can give me reasons why you are willing to pay 9% dividend to short the stock.. $147M a year is not you can afford to pull out from you pocket..
Apparently, you are not a long-term holders, nor interested in dividend. You probably a short-term short-seller..
