Re: VERY optimistic outlook/forecast by Daniel Ives, who asserts ...>>My opinion is that phones have gotten to the place that computers did... Speed and features have plateaued.<< IIRC, Bloomberg wreaked its AAPL-demolition by referencing Apple's decision re the more-pedestrian iPhone 13 and not mentioning Apple's determination re the iPhone 14 Pro. To paraphrase Forrest Gump, Mute is as mute does. It is impossible for me to believe that Apple's features have plateaued. Has medicine plateaued? Examples of Apple's ecosystem in medicine: • https://www.apple.com/healthcare/products-platform • https://www.apple.com/healthcare • Faskinatin' overview of Apple in medicine: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4029126 >>There is not much enthusiasm to drive people to get the newest and latest. plus, with phones you also have a big secondary market of barely used phones.<< Maybe barely used as telephones, but what about photography? For a telephone, I prefer a pair of rechargeable G.E. handhelds whose base is a landline phone (wired into the wall). And I use my iPhone solely for taking pictures. How many users opt for the ease of iPhone photography (despite its skewing flaw)? Disclosure: My first camera was a Kodak Brownie Target Six-20, like this treasure, a Christmas present from my uncle: https://i.etsystatic.com/21946862/r/il/0aa507/2133120606/il_1588xN.2133120606_pml7.jpg >>On top of that inflation is putting a bind on a lot of people's budgets.<< For sure!! When we are finally set free from our bondage, the sunlight will blind us like it blinded the prisoners set free from the Bastille!! |
